The Phantom Gate

Made for the 50th Game Maker Community Jam in Semptember 2023 over the course of 4 days.

The original prompt was "Bullseye"

My goal was to make a RTS genre game where you have to destroy invisible portals. But I got bogged down in writing shaders, rendering isometric sprites, and fixing bugs in UI handlers. So as it stands, this is a very glorified looking tech demo without the core gameplay elements necessary to make it a true game. 

There is no gameplay loop to speak of. The only things you can do are...

• Pan around the map with WASD  (or arrows)
• SHIFT to make the camera move faster.
• Select buildings and aliens to look at their health.
• Watch the enemy ships spawn and destroy all the buildings
